Aviation Industry CBT Committee
|
Aviation Industry CBT Committee CMI (Computer Managed Instruction) Systems implicitly involve a wide audience—instructional designers, subject matter experts, CBT (Computer Based Training) developers, students, instructors, CBT/CMI administrators and others. As such a CMI system can have a tremendous impact on course design, development, and delivery. CMI Guidelines for Interoperability (CMI001) addresses technical and functional specifications for AICC compliant CMI systems. |
Purpose
AICC documents have been developed to promote and enhance the interoperability of CBT systems and courseware within the aviation industry. The AICC further recommends that developers and users of aviation industry CBT become aware of important interoperability issues through the white papers and working documents prepared by the AICC. |

| AICC has published some recommendations devoted to specify the CMIs' user interfaces. |
Icon Guidelines
The icon Guidelines are for the functions of the student/user interface to CBT material and delivery systems. They are recommended to reduce confusion and frustration which can distract from the learning experience.
The student experiences confusion because several variations have been used to control CBT and the student begins to intermix the various systems. The problem is compounded by icons with meanings which are not obvious. |
