3rd eMadrid Workshop on e-LearningCampus de Ciudad Universitaria C/ Ramiro de Maeztu, 7. 28040 Madrid - From 18/06/2012 to 19/06/2012

eMadrid is a R&D program between Madrid research groups working on “Research and Development of Technology-Enhanced Learning”. It is coordinated by the Carlos III University of Madrid and composed by the Autónoma University, Complutense University, Politécnica University, Rey Juan Carlos University and the Distance Learning University UNED.

The subject of this edition is the e-Learning 2.0. During the two days that this event will last, several national and international experts will show the state of the art in e-Learning and the future trends, both in the academic and in the corporative areas. So Peter Scott, from the Open University of the United Kingdom, and Fred de Vries, from the Open University of the Netherlands, will show several features of the m-Learning, or learning with mobile devices.

Antonio Rodríguez de la Heras, from the Culture and Technology Intitute (UC3M), will try to elucidate the paper of the user in the new leaning spatiotemporal contexts created in the Web 2.0. On the other hand, Sara de Freitas, from the Serious Games Institute of the United Kingdom, will start from concrete examples to explain how videogames can be used to teach first aid.

Wikis, beside social networks or blogs, are some of the tools used for e-Learning 2.0. Furthermore, they are also the origin of one of one of the most popular phenomena in the Internet: Wikipedia. Other Session will be focused on showing some trials of the use of this encyclopedia (and of free software, as well) as a tool for teaching.

More experiences around e-Learning 2.0 will be shown in one of the round tables programmed. The other will try to elucidate the measurement of changes introduced for this new version of the technology-enhanced learning. Awarded participants will have the chance to show their works.
